Absolutely, you would need to graduate from an accredited college of nursing either from a University Bachelor program , Community College Associate degree program, or if you are lucky enough to find a Hospital with a Diploma program. All three programs make you eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.

You go through two or four years of nursing school and sit for the NCLEX to become an RN. None of the CNA classes will apply to the RN program.

You have at the very least 2 years of school ahead of you (likely more when you include pre-requisites)! You will need to choose a school and apply for admission. Nursing programs generally have additional requirements for admission to the major above and beyond the college admission requirements.

After graduating, you then have to successfully pass the NCLEX exam (also known as "boards").

Pre-requisites are generally anatomy, physiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, nutrition, ethics, statistics, microbiology, and math. Programs vary, so check your local school's website.

I went from many years as a CNA to RN. If that is your goal GO FOR IT! The CNA experience will be a good foundation to build on.
