FOR ACUTE CARE ADULT NP, I wanted to see if any of the community has experience applying to this part of the US. I am not familiar, and just want to see other's opinions. Also how early for CA do you apply for licensure/what are the steps? I am still in school so want to get organized.
In comparison to NYC is it harder to find a job in SF? I'm just wondering more about the hospital systems there and the supply and demand. NYC has quite a few NP students, and few residencies.
In comparison, SF/Bay Area has one AGACNP program whereas NYC has many. There are jobs here but there are many applicants including those from out of state. LOL about SF being clean! However, it does depend on the specific neighborhood you're in.
I'll take this opportunity to post that one of the attendings at work approached me about 2 job openings for ACNP's (PA's also considered) to work with mechanical circulatory device patients (Impella, LVAD's with Heart Mate II and III, Heartware HVAD's) and ECMO service in an academic setting. Requires strong CCU and device experience as a nurse, if NP. PM me for details

Compared to NyC yes, it's all relative. I have visited many times and am familiar what I am getting into.
