How to handle pregnancy

Published

So I just found out I'm pregnant. I have a drs appt tomorrow for blood work etc. By my calculation I'm about 6 weeks. How do you handle it in the ED??? Is there patient's I should avoid?? With all the portable xrays and stuff going off I'm almost paranoid. We had a loss in May at 13.5 weeks that we couldn't determine a cause and I couldn't help but wonder if it was something that happened at work. I'm paranoid something will happen to this one. I'm just looking for some advice. Thanks :)

I'm pregnant starting lpn classes but first I have to do can I'm nervous I could catch sumn. I would worry about it tho, take like as it happens that's all u can do! And congrats make sure u have all your shots updated to be safe!

All shots are up to date except Flu shot. I never get it as I seem to be immune to it. I get the flu if I get it and I get the flu if I don't lol. I never had chicken pox but had the vaccine as a kid. I had all my titers drawn for my new job and they were fine

The best thing to do is talk with your doctor at length about the things and patients you need to avoid and do while you are pregnant and working as a nurse. This subject should not be a hit and miss type thing which could easily happen asking this question here. Even though its AN, its still just a public website.

Also only you can determine as you go along whether or not you can handle the pace of the ED as your pregnancy progresses.

Congratulations and good luck to you.:yeah:

Congratulations on the pregnancy!

Unfortunately, the exchange of medical advice is not allowed on these forums. Your physician would the one best equipped to advise you on how to proceed and what to avoid. I wish you the best of luck!
