How to handle bad management

Published

I have worked as a CNA at the same LTC facility for about 8 months. I have worked there longer than most aides. We are always short staffed. Yesterday an aide went home and we still had a restorative aide so i asked the director of nursing if we could pull him to the floor she said no. So we are short and there are call lights going off everywhere while the DON and ADON are sitting up there which erks my nerves because they can answer call lights to. So what do I do? plus making $9.00 an hour is not enough for what we have to do.

Bail. If they really cared, they would have done something about it by now.

You've been there eight months and are already one of the CNAs who've been there the longest? Thats a red flag right there! If the DON and ADON truly cared about the staffing issues you have, they would have taken steps to start rectifying the problem already, but it seems as though they haven't. Start looking for another job - you can only work short like that for so long before something happens to jeopardize your license!
