I will be graduating with my ADN in May, however I must submit an application for a nurse residency sooner along with my resume.
I am not sure how to go about my resume. I have been a stay at home wife/mom for >10 years and have only 2 short term jobs in the last 6 years - each lasting just under 1 year. My relevant healthcare work experience as a pharmacy technician and medical assistant is from 1995-1999. I also have some non relevant experience as an accountant from 2000-2002, and then worked the 2 short term jobs in the last 5 years. My job from 2002-2010 was at home with my husband, he is a self employed programmer running his own business. I helped here and there.
Should I list my work experiences from so long ago? Should I include all my work experience? My resume is going to be extremely skimpy otherwise.
Also, since these work experiences were so long ago, I do not honestly recollect the exact dates and will have to put in a guestimation. Is there a way they can look up my employment history? I do not want it to seem as if I am lying about it.
THANK YOU!
Here is kind of what my resume will look like if I list most of my employment history. I am able to keep it to one page. The formatting is not at all like this, I just copied and pasted the resume and this is how it shows up on AN.
