How to get started?? Please help.

I wasnt sure exactly where to post this but I don't know how to get into Nursing. I never finished highschool, I was forced to drop out and start working to help provide for my family. I am now 18 years old and with a GED and i have wanted to become an RN for a long time. I just, don't know where to start. What to do.. or where to begin. How do i get started? Help please! I'm so anxious and determined to make this dream a reality. Thank you for any help/advice you can give me!

So, I take the courses that i CAN transfer while at the school in GA and then I have to go to the college that I wish to attend in CA and take the rest of the prereqs before I can apply for the nursing program? Or do i apply for the nursing program when I start? Are the prereqs INCLUDED in the nursing program? I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. Thanks for all the help guys!

Generally you don't apply for the nursing program till you've finished the prerequisites. You might be able to do all of the prereqs in GA, then apply to the CA nursing programs. The main point here is that we're talking in general terms and you really need to go sit down with an advisor at your local college to discuss the specific plan.

Pre-reqs took me around 2 years to complete.
