Okay, I already actually accepted a job! BUT THEN I DISCOVERED MY LIFE'S MISSION IS PEDS! My school does Peds last. Anyways, there is also one hospital I consider my dream workplace-close to home, magnet, low turnover rate, luxurious facilities. I went to a recruiting meeting and it was great, I handed my resume over there and was told I'd get a call, I followed up 3 days later (over the weekend) with a cover letter and resume via email (recruiter gave me her card) and it's been another 2 days and no call. I called her and got a message she was out of work 1 day.
So this is really needy and anxious, BUT, when you really want to work at a particular hospital, how aggressive should you be? How can I get the recruiter's attention in a good way? I'm a strong candidate and I'm doing my end-of-school preceptorship at this hospital-but I want to work there so bad I'm going crazy!!!!
PS-i'D LOVE TO JUST HEAR YOUR JOB SEARCH SAGAS TOO, IF YOU'D LIKE TO JUST VENT A BIT.

If she was out Monday then she was probably playing catch up yesterday. I'd try and be patient another day or two. It's good to be persistant but you don't want to wind up seeming like a PITA either. Some people also aren't good with emails. I'd wait and if you don't hear back I'd try giving her a call. Preface it with "I wanted to followup with you and make sure you received my email and what the next step is in seeking employment with you. I hold your facility in very high regard and I'm excited about the possibility of working in your pediatric unit"
TY for your reply. I know my questions was like the "did you pass after 75 questions?" ones, but sometimes a person just needs some emotional support!
P.S. what's PITA? I instinctively know it's groveling little twerp begging for a job, but what is is exactly?
I'll wait a day or 2 and call.

It always take longer than you expect to get a response.
I've had to bug people to move along with a decision. I'd wait a week & then call, leave a voicemail & say "We met (blah blah) & I forwarded you my resume last week, I just wanted to verify that you got it, and was wondering if there was anything I need to do to proceed with my apllication."
TY for your encouragement. I called today, got the recruiter on the phone, and she knew who I was (small victories...). She said she had forwarded my resume to the unit with no response yet and would follow up. She also said, "but you are going to do your preceptorship here, right?" Not sure how she knows that, but it's true. So maybe I won't get an interview now, because they are relying on my "audition" during the preceptorship. I'll make it clear from the beginning I want to work there.
Meanwhile, I have 2 interviews somewhere else today where the people seemed very excited to talk to me. lower pay, better training as a new grad, longer commute. But the pay cut is temporary (the first year only), and maybe worth it for the training.
