How to get out of your comfort zone as a Nurse?

during the pandemic in the Retirement home I worked mostly 2 different floors and I can do those floors with my eyes closed. Now,  the full timers who ran away are coming back and obviously they don't want to lay me off so they are putting me to work on other floors.

To me its fine, but its like I am getting anxious about it now. Like new Residents, how will they like me. And then also the personal support workers along with the nurses from the previous shifts. Getting to know different meds and Doctors and routines. I try not to dwell on it too much but I do.

Can you re-frame this somehow? This is an opportunity to grow and learn? If your current residents like you, then you are getting to make new friends? The employer has confidence that you will transition?

Or, you can play-act that you are a supremely confident nurse who can take on any challenge. Sort of "fake it 'til you make it." Imagine who is your hero nurse, and then be them.

Well, not that long ago you were new to the two floors you've been working, right? Obviously that worked out just fine for you. You're going to start off just like you did last time and you will probably figure out the routine just fine. Don't dwell on it too much, change happens, especially in nursing. Good luck!
