How to get in to a clinic

I've been working in LTC and skilled nursing since I graduated about a year ago. I would really like to work in a clinic, office, or outpatient setting. How do I get into one? I'm an RN and it seems all the jobs posted are forv LPNs. How do you find the ones that hire RNs? And what is the best way to approach them?

Hello I'm an RN that was just hired at a clinic/MD office. I was a patient of the MD before and she knew me when I was a medical assistant. Working in a clinic/MD office you may have to take a paycut but you also get better, usually set hours. Also no nights/weekends/holidays/mandated OT. Good luck. It was hard to leave my grandmas and grandpas at the LTC.

Thanks for the reply. My question is how do you find the jobs? They don't seem to be advertised anywhere. And there are a zillion clinics and you don't know which ones hire RNs, so it's hard to do cold-calling like I did with nursing homes.

I've seen a number of clinic positions posted on Craigslist. Also maybe you can try Googling clinics in your area and hopefully some phone numbers will show up and you can call and ask if they hire RNs.
