Hello! I am studying public community health nursing this semester and REALLY like it. You know-it's the avenue of nursing where you can get involved in government, legislation, policy, and so forth. This would be a GREAT mix for me with my previous background in PR and Broadcasting. HOW do you get involved in public nursing from an administrative side?? I am not really interested in working for the local health dept.- not really from the clinician side, but from an administrative, legislative angle. Any ideas or pointers?? THANKS very much!

Contact your state senator and other elected officials on the state level. Our state senator lives in our town and he is a wealth of information re nursing needs in the legislative arena.
