How to find a job as a foreign trained RN in NY

Published

I am foreign trained RN. I had 10 yrs working experiences at hospital in China. I just passed my NCLEX test 2 months ago. I am trying to find a job in NY area. I have checked some job listings, but all of them require at 1 yr working experience as US RN. I DON'T know what to do now, anybody can help here?

Unfortunately you are in the same boat as a new grad even though you have 10 yrs under your belt.Just keep applying to as many hospitals and LTC.Someone will notice that experience.Good luck

you may want to start work as volunteer somewhere if they take any, and beg ppl to offer you a per diem RN job, doesn't matter if it's day or night shift and just keep on trying until you find a spot, work and tolerate a few months and then move on. so may RNs are looking for jobs right now, it's not a question to ask how to get a job, it's the technique and interpersonal communication skill + some bit luck to land you a job.

just be tough and show that you are the right person for the job. don't let anybody beat you down because your english is the second language, show them something they don't have in US.
