How did you feel after taking the teas

Nursing Students TEAS

How did you feel after taking the teas test? I took mine last Friday and felt rushed in the math section. The reading section, I finished just in time with about 3 mins left. I studied like crazy and felt the science part was more in depth than what I studied. I feel like Sh*t walking out of the testing place. My question is, did you guys walk out of there feeling like you did well but results were opposite or vice verse? I felt horrible but hoping I didn’t do too bad.

I'm HUGELY relieved getting the Teas over with finally. Only one program I'm applying to even requires it, and I was driving myself crazy trying to study for it and stressing about it. I paid $$ for the online ATI prep course and thought it was awful and kinda gave up on it. Instead, used a Kaplan book that I liked better.

My score was 81 overall (the program I'm applying to only cares about 'passing' by scoring above a 60-something in each section). The math section was what I was most nervous about, and I did have to keep my eye on the time/rush a bit. But I thought the questions were fairly simple compared to stuff I'd seen in prep questions. Word problems weren't too involved, and basically understanding proportions/conversion was the bulk of it I thought.

Science made me sweat a bit -- it's just such a massive pool the questions can come from! I'm glad I took time over the past couple months to review anatomy section by section, not getting into crazy detail but focusing on what the Kaplan book suggested (e.g. hormone list, path of blood, functions of the different immune cells, etc). I had to guess on a couple chemistry things (taking that course now), but didn't encounter anything else too unfamiliar or crazy. It is a tough section to prepare for though.

Weirdly, the reading part was my lowest score -- and I'm a writer in my current career, English-student background, etc. That section is just weird -- lots of very subjective questions you need to learn the "ATI way" to answer and not necessarily what you'd expect as a thinking grown-up with any life experience.

Also, I had worried because I saw that 4 hours were allotted for the test, but it took me 2. I am not sure what's usual. I had ample time to spare with everything but the math part.

Good luck everyone!

I am sorry you spent that money on the ati prep course they are pretty pricey. I took the teas as well and I am relieved, I used the mometrix secrets book and got an 80. I was so close to buying the prep though glad i didn't. ? weirdly english was the lowest score i got too.

Yeah, it's also kinda tough knowing how well a prep course/book is going to work for you until you've gotten yourself pretty deep into it. I thought the ATI online program would be more engaging and interactive, but it felt very "flat" and I grew frustrated with it quickly. I think a simple workbook from Kaplan or similar, supplemented with videos you can actually enjoy or tolerate online for various topics, is the way to go.

I agree! the combination of a book with videos worked. I think you did pretty well though, my school requires a 62 but I am guessing they will take the ones who scored higher of course.
