How far would you commute to nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I live in a town where there are three nursing schools but two are private schools that cost 30k plus a year and one is a community college with a three year waitlist! There are three community colleges about two hours away and one state university that is two hours away. So would anyone be crazy enough to commute this far for nursing school? Or would you wait the three years for the community college? I just became a CNA and plan to work as one until I get to start school or possibly take an EMT program part time and work or volunteer as an EMT too...

What would you do?

I'm doing the majority of my pre-reqs online, but the school itself is an hour away. It was either drive an hour and go to a school with no waiting list or drive 15 minutes and wait 2 years. Either way, it would cost time.

I figured if my hubby used to be an hour away for work for several years, I could do it for school.

I currently commute 30-45 minutes (depending on traffic) for my pre-requisites. I tried to make good use of my time, listening to lectures during my commute. With the price of gas, I don't think I can afford a longer commute right now.

The school I am applying for is two hours away, so I plan on moving. There is another school that I am going to apply for and that is 3hrs away. If I get into either schools I am just going to move. I want to have as much time as possible to study not driving on the road...
