I'm master's prepared, interested in pursuing a DNP degree. I assumed as a "practice based" (as opposed to the phd) it would mostly be clinical in nature with extra science courses. Every program I look at talks about implementing a research project and defending it orally? How does this work? Do people just implement this at their workplace, how detailed does it have to be, etc? Thanks for any insight!

Every program I look at talks about implementing a research project and defending it orally? How does this work?
