I have the good fortune of having been accepted to nursing schools in (2) different states. For personal family reasons I am strongly inclined to pack it up and move back home to PA. I have a teenage daughter there who deserves to have a mother, and I can live at home w/ my parents, without having to worry about rent, major advantages. However, my husband and I have been struggling along for (7) years together, and I have established myself here in TX, and I LOVE TX. I hate the thought of freezing again, which I vowed never, ever to do again. I am truely a southern gal. I want a TX RN license.
Romance aside, how do I evaluate one nursing program against another. The schools have soooo much information about us, candidates, and we have nothing to use to evaluate them. Should I study in Dallas, TX, or Pittsburgh, PA??

Where do you want to work when you graduate, if it is in TX then you need to go to school there. To me it sounds like you really prefer TX.

The most important thing, which school has the highest number of graduates that pass NCLEX?
Your daughter needs you, but if looking at both sides of the coin, look at percentage of NCLEX passers or numbers..................

This is great foresight. I am now thinking forward like this.

Thanks for keeping this into prospective. The NCLEX is where it's at. In my digging around I have found out that many schools who have very high pass rates also have very high weed out rates.
