I just passed the 2nd semester of a 4 semester ADN RN program. Now that I have the summer off, I know I'm going to forget some of the fundamental stuff and whatnot.
I don't know exactly third semester entails but it's "Advanced Med Surg I" and I also hear we're doing mental health too.
So what are some things I can do to prepare myself for next fall? Apparently this is the "killer" semester because A LOT of people fail out. I was thinking of dong like a pharmacology tutorial during the summer and reviewing all the stuff I've learned in fundamentals as well as reading the ATI books in the subjects that we will probably be covering.

your plan sounds good. As an educator I would recommend sticking to that. You might also go online to find information on various diseases. Sometimes there are videos and treatment options, etc. that can keep you fresh

I'm going to into my last semester in the fall( well prayerfully). Over the summer I plan on buying the text book and syllabus to get familiar with the readings. I will probably do an outline for each class. I want to enjoy my summer but I can't wait until the fall. The light is shining at the end of the tunnel.
Cool. And I'm already really good at A&P (at least to my knowledge since I got B's and A's in both classes) and the A&P interests me as well as the physiologies of the diseases and whatnot.
I just gotta focus on and master the communication aspect of nursing because we don't practice from medical perspective.
