How can I become a CNA

Published

I am currently in Pre-Nursing and will hopefully be eligable for the nursing program in the Fall. I am trying to get my CNA license in order to boost me chances of getting accepted into the nursing program. I am having a hard time finding programs for CNA Training in the Tampa Bay area.

Please Help!!!

Hi:

I did a quick google search and found this website.

CNA Exam Prep

I am a cna in gainesville and took a similar class. Honestly don't waste your money on a training class, I learned everything I needed to know on the job. Just take a quick prep and take your exam and you will be A ok.

Does this exam prep qaulify for one to take the CNA exam?

I took an 8 week 4 evenings/week course with the red cross to obtain my certification.

Where do you find info on a cna prep class. I keep coming up the cna training classes.

Where are you located and I will try looking up something and get back to you?

Thanks for replying. I live in gainesville as well.

Gatormommy - look up Express Training in Gainesville. They have a quick program, but to get points at Santa Fe it has to be a 120 hour program (aka, only one from a community college).

kfarmer - Did you ever find a CNA training program in your area? I am also looking for something in the Tampa Bay area. Thanks.

@kfarmer - Have you given any thought to getting your certification online? I was somewhat in the same boat as you a few years ago and was having trouble finding a course that would work around my schedule at the time, which was pretty hectic. Eventually, I decided to just do it online and it was pretty easy, there are a lot of online schools offering these courses now days.

I think there was a good list on the how to become a cna page on pnhnetwork, and most states will also give you a list of accredited schools in the area, as well as online, check with your local health board.
