I live in Dallas Texas, and I would like to become a RN. The only problem I have is that I am unable to quit my full time job and go to school. Can anyone advise of any schools in Dallas Texas that I can attend and still keep my full time job. You assistance I very much appreicated.

Maybe try to take some of the pre-reqs online. You really need to apply at a nursing school in your area and just see what all you will be required to do. My school would not allow us to work at all during the first semester of nursing classes, but it was a fast-paced program. You need to go ahead and apply somewhere, because you may be put on a waiting list. If your ACT scores are high enough, you might be able to skip math/English. It is best to go ahead and start your pre-reqs and get them out of the way.

I know in my area there were a handful ones that offered night classes as an option but mine started at 5 pm for night classes. I also know that the clinical times were the same, either 3 pm to 11 or 6:30 am to 3:30 or something along those lines since it was the hospital who gave them the clinicals. My school did offer online lectures but you had to come to town to take the tests in the testing center and participate in on campus activities like the SIM lab which may be offered during the time you traditionally worked.

Nursing school is not very accommodating in general. I've found they are rigid and if it doesn't work for you, either quit your job. Some people found out a week before the classes when the EKG classes were and my two friends were stressing about how to get someone to watch their kids as Mom was at clinical the only day that Dad could take the class because he worked the other days or had clinical.
