Hello! I am applying to community colleges now to get associate degree in nursing. Ultimately I would like to become a lactation consultant. Does anyone know if I need any higher degree than associate for that purpose? Thank you.

Currently I am an Associate Degree nurse, going on for my Bachelors-for IBCLC, ADN nurses require more hours in order to sit the test. In order to practice, I took a Certified Lactation Counselor seminar. PCE has a very good class. Now I am able to practice while I gain more hours and experience to sit the exam

No, you don't have to have a higher degree. However, less education = more experience hours needed in breastfeeding work. See the IBLCE website for the details.
Best wishes!

HI Mitchsmom,
My nanci and I'm taking a course to become an IBCLC. I'm right now in the process of developing a history form and was wondering about any websites that you knew of. I tried that aol one and couldn't pull it up.
thanks
