Houston, TX

I am thinking of doing travel nursing. It looks like my first assignment will be tele/med in Houston, TX. Has anyone ever been there? Did you enjoy it? Any suggestions?

I live in Texas and my suggestion is to go anywhere in Texas (there are TONS of travel assignments) but Houston. Houston is not the nicest part of Texas and is actually referred to as "the armpit of Texas". You can get better pay and be in a better area anywhere else. I'm finishing up a 13 week local contract right now in the Dallas Fort Worth area

I live in a small town and I am terrified to make the move. There were some other options in Texas.... maybe I should pick another area. Thanks for the advice!

Sure!! Feel free to message me if you find somewhere in Dallas Fort Worth. I can give you pointers on the different hospital systems. The agency I am with is amazing and helpful if you don't have one already.

I am talking to American Mobile but I haven't made any commitments yet.

I am currently with Supplemental Health Care. Their office is in Fort Worth Tx and they went above and beyond to get me an assignment. They negotiated my pay and other things for me.

Actually Houston Nurses get Paid more than nurses in other Texas Cities !

i am moving to dallas for an assignment and in need of a good housing spot. Do you know of anything furnished or all included for a decent price?

It is a big city! I think you want to narrow down where you want to live and look on Craigslist (posting your own ad is best), and property managers. Your agency should have some ideas too.
