Hey Nurses! What’s the word on the street regarding residencies that will open up this fall. Could we have some posted?

Thank you!

Im starting at Methodist! I'm also from out of state and looking for suggestions! I passed my NCLEX back in June and already have my license thankfully.

Do you know the scrub color bu any chance?

For those going through the on boarding process with Memorial Hermann, about how long did it take for the background check and health screen to be completed?

It took a few days for me until I got cleared. They'll call and let you know once you've been cleared with all that.

Mine is still being processed. I did mine three weeks ago but I wonder if it’s taking so long because I didn’t go through Memorial Hermann because I don’t live in Houston and went through another clinic. Or because I just passed my NCLEX last week? Not sure what the hold up is. I hope we get info soon because we are supposed to start next week. Let me know if you or @Leedle BSN RN here anything please!

Since you didn't go through Memorial Hermann, it will take longer for them to get the results. But I would call them and check on your status. I know they told me they're trying to get to everyone as quickly as possible, but just call them and ask your status.

Hey! I’m going through the exact same process as you. I am also moving from out of state & passed my nclex last week as well since just graduated in august. I had emailed them my license number last Friday & I hadn’t heard back so I called today & they told me it was still being processed. I told them my situation & how I had to know bc I would be moving from a diff state & they said they would put a note on my file so the lady can call me tomorrow morning. They said the process takes 7-10 days from the time they have our license & if it doesn’t get cleared on time for the 7th, we would start on the 14th which is their next start date. But most importantly we don’t lose the job, we just get delayed a week. Hope this helped! I’m going to see what I get told tomorrow so I can start making moving arrangements. If anything just call, they’re extremely nice & helpful!

Hey Ria! Can you please let me know what they say? I’m moving from out of the city. I can call them in the morning as well, but let me know what they say!

Hey! I haven't gotten a call today so if they don't by the afternoon I think I'm going to call back. Were you able to call?

No I got an email back from the lady doing my on boarding stuff and she said that she sent my stuff through pre-check with my license number and then she will be able to tell me a start date. I asked her when I would be starting and she didn't tell me soo.... I feel like I just have to assume the 14th.

Ah ok! So I just called and my lady is in a training but I asked if I was able to start on the 14th instead by request & she said yes that it was no problem, so I am going to wait for my lady to call back so I can make the change. Idk how fast you can move to Houston but since I live in Florida I can't just wait till last min to know, so I decided to switch my day so maybe if it is more peace of mind for you, you can switch yours too instead of waiting?

Oh nice! Yeah that's completely understandable to be honest. I would have switched if I was you as well! And it's not a huge deal for me, Houston is 3.5-4 hours away from where I live currently so it's not bad! Are you working at TMC?

Oh ok! I am actually going to start the 7th, but no I'll be working at Southwest. Also, for the people going to MH culture day are y'all wearing scrubs? the color of your corresponding unit?
