Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2025

Hiiiii everyone! I know this is a little early but I am graduating this December and will be applying to houston nurse residencies and didn't see a forum for this 🙂 since applications start in a few months, just wanted to make this for more info! Does anyone know all the application opening dates for TCH, MH, Methodist, etc...?

Question! I know we are trying to land our first nursing job as a whole and to get our feet wet as a first-year RN.

I wanted to ask what are the factors for y'all because I am in a rut! 

Are y'all choosing based on specialty, facility+environment, pay, end-goal, etc.? Like, what drives you to choose the offer best for you?

For me, it's mainly based on speciality and end goal! After that is the facility/location and also the vibe I feel from those interviewing me. After that are the type of shifts being offered (day vs night vs rotation). The next factor would be pay.

I am graduating in December and moving to the Houston area from Idaho... I hope that does not put me at a disadvantage. I cannot find St. Luke's application as well. I applied at Methodist and Harris. I have heard bad things about HCA and would not know if I would even take it as my last choice. I am sad to read that TCH is not taking new grads! Good luck, everyone! keep me updated on interviews as well. I do not know what to expect, and I am so nervous since it is not a small move.

Yes, on the zoom today they said they just list one application for all locations and specialities and everyone applies to that one listing. So everyone submits one application only.

Does anyone know anything about Meridian Hospital? They don't seem to have a nurse residency program, but I did see they have a few jobs that I qualify for and applied to on a whim but I don't know anything about them or if they are a good facility since I am not from the area

Does anybody have the zoom link for the memorial city open house? It's saying I can't register because the meeting ended September 3rd at 8am, but it's scheduled for today at 8am

Does anyone know peds hospital in houston other than TCH and Hermann.
