does anyone have any information on this topic? i read here that HCC isnt going to have ADN program in 2016 because their accreditation is being questioned. Im calling up to the school tomorrow to see what the latest is, it does make sense though because ive been trying to take my hesi ad i need the dept ID number and it says its given at the program session but there are no program sessions available. Its going to be really ****** if they dont have the program this year.

I'm waiting for an advisor to reply back to me about this issue. It's really going to put some people in the hole if they shut this program down. The BSN programs in the area are so competitive, I'm still applying to them but I really figured that I could use the HCC ADN program as a good solid back up just in case. Have you heard anything?

I haven't seen any definitive information about this yet... but if they are closing up shop, it's probably due to their dismal NCLEX pass rates since 2013. They haven't been able to bring it up to the magic 80% pass rate. Because they were already on 'warning' status due to low results in '13 & '14, the 2015 results will have dropped them to 'conditional' status - requiring substantive changes to maintain approval. Maybe they have determined that it would be easier just to close the program, especially since state funding for public education is being decreased again.
I would suggest you check out the better performing ADN programs at San Jacinto, College of the Mainland, & Lone Star campuses.
I just saw your reply, but ive called and confirmed and they are not having an ADN program until the NCLEX scores are up.

it said in the news today that it is shut down and won't be taking any applicants. The people in the program now are the last ones! Crazy !!

So I just attended one of their mandatory seminars before you can even apply for the program, & there accepting students only for the spring 2016. But they won't accept anymore students until the current program students graduate. Apparently they were just 1% under the required scoring. Once the current students graduate & increase the passing rate then that'll determine when they'll begin to accept students again. Hope this helped.

Has anyone heard any updates on HCC's nuclex scores?
I have applied and am nervously awaiting their results to see if they can seat a class for Spring 2017
