I know I need to go in and talk to the HR person at my company about this, it just upsets me that I discovered this on Friday of a holiday weekend, and have to wait until Monday to discuss the issue.
Any suggestions on how to approach the subject without ******* my employer off would be fabulous!
I accepted a job in April, and signed an agreement that stated that my hourly wage would be $19.00 per hour. It was co-signed by the person who hired me, the clinical supervisor, who I think left the company between when I accepted the job and actually started.
I just received my first paycheck, and the hourly wage I was actually paid was only $16.20. I obviously wouldn't have accepted the job in the first place if the wage presented to me at the time of hire was the $16.00 per hour. UGH!
So, now I have to put my big girl panties on, and take this up with the company on Monday, and hope they will honor the original offer, because I really don't want to lose my job or be forced to resign due to wage. I really don't want to go back to being unemployed, and job searching again.
Thanks for letting me vent!

If you have your agreement and there is no fine print stating they can decrease it, or, there is a probationary clause that you will be paid x until the probationary period in over....they have to pay the agreement. Just go in, probably Tuesday because this is a holiday weekend, with your "agreement" and your pay stub and ask them to rectify the situation. Be calm, but firm. "I got my paycheck and I was disturbed that the pay was not the hourly amount agreed upon in the agreement I signed. I am wondering if you can explain this and rectify the discrepancy".
I wish you the best. Come Back and let us know how it all went.

You have to be willing to stand your ground or this will not be the first time they will push you around. At least you have it in writing. I've only ever had my wage in writing twice, so I've been lucky that something didn't change between the time I was told my wage and the time I got the first check. Good luck.

Also, were any of these hours orientating? I worked for one company that made you orient on every single case before you went on your own. They usually pay less for the orient hours. Hope you get it worked out!

Yes, some of the hours were orientation, but the hours I was paid orientation rate, are depicted correctly on my pay stub.
X hours at orientation pay
X hours at what should be regular wage
It's the "regular wage" amount that is clearly not what I was told.
Everything else is correct.
I'll go in the morning and try to get it worked ou.
