I've seen lots of posts for new grad salaries, but I'm wondering about the average base hourly rate for experienced ICU RN's in Los Angeles. My stepkid's mom is being relocated there, so we all want to move out and I'm trying to figure out what kind of a budget we'd be living off of. I have 5 yrs of experience and my partner has 6.
Would it be tough to find a job in this area?
Thanks in advance!!

I can't really comment on how difficult it is to get a job in this area (because I haven't searched), but you will probably be looking at an hourly rate in the low $40s (my guess is you could probably expect a range of $38-$44 before any differentials). You will see higher rates at the big union hospitals (e.g. Kaiser). HTH!
Awesome! Thanks so much, I can't wait to get out there!

It will be extremely tough out here. Stay where ever you are are, you will have a better chance over there. It is extremely expensive already also, if you don't already have a job lined up. Look in the thread about Californian residents having trouble to get a job.
