Hourly Pay in Bay Area

Published

Hi All,

Just wondering what the hourly pay is for an advice or triage nurse in the Bay Area. I may be moving back to San Jose in the near future. I am currently the lead Advice RN for a Nurse Line in another state. I have 2 years RN experience, 1 year in telephone triage. Thanks!

Kaiser is union (CNA)

You would probably start close to $70.00.

Hope that helps.

You must mean $70,000 a year not $70 dollars an hour?

The Bay Area has one of the highest costs of living in the country, so the pay reflects that. Additionally, Kaiser is one of the highest paying hospital systems in the state, so $70/hr is reasonable for that area and hospital system.

I have a friend who works as an advice nurse in the east bay and makes $87 an hour at Kaiser. She has about 2 years experience as an LVN and 2 years as an RN. Cost of living is typically higher in many parts of the bay but not in all areas. If you can find a cheaper place to live (think east Contra Costa County) then it's totally worth it and the money is awesome!

Holy Moly! That is unbelievable!

I know for a fact that is a little over-exaggerated, even on nights with that amount of seniority.

It depends on how many years nursing experience you have, too. Kaiser pays well and the benefits are great.

It's not exaggerated because I've seen her pay stub. She works evenings.
