Hospitals that hire New Grads in ED?

Published

Hey guys,

Does anybody know of any hospitals in Michigan that hire new grads in the ER and have a good orientation program?

I had a summer externship in the ER, and work in the ER right now as a tech in a level-one ED, St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor. I love it here, but they don't hire new-grads. I graduate in May from U of M with my BSN.

Med-surg nursing is just not for me, and I am well aware of the controversy in hiring new grads in the ER.

Let me know if you know of any hospitals that hire new grads!!

Henry Ford Hospital does.

Specializes in Med/Surg.

Botsford does as well. I had my clinical there and we had clinical in the ER a few days and a few of the nurses there had just been hired a few months previously after they had graduated.

U of M hires fresh GN's. Our unit has a bunch of them rotating through for a couple days for their ER orientation. One said that they are at approximately 70 rooms right now and want to expand to 120 in the near future. Call a nurse recruiter and enquire.

Providence Hospital in southfield does! Good Luck
