Hospitals in Fort Worth

Published

We are considering the possibility of moving to the Fort Worth, TX area.... any recommendations of hospitals to check into? I currently work in an inner city hospital - Level 1 Trauma... Top Burn ICU in the midwest... I work in the CV-ICU and would be interested in continuing to work in ICU, moving into the OR or possibly the cath lab. Any suggestions appreciated :)

I love Fort Worth. Moved here 10 years ago.

JPS - John Peter Smith is the county hospital

Many other hospitals under 2 main systems. Texas Health Resources and Baylor.

Would you recommend any over the others?

PS -- are the summers down there super hot and humid??

The nurses I talk to at all of them seem happy. Especially the THR ones. It is kind of hot and humid in summer, but not like the deep south.

Get a pool if you can.

Where are u coming from?

1. John Peter Smith (level 1 county hospital)

2. Harris Methodist (several campuses - the major one is downtown, one is in southwest Ft. Worth, one is in north Ft. Worth)

3. Baylor All Saints Medical Center

4. Plaza Medical Center

5. North Hills Hospital (located in a suburb called North Richland Hills)

6. Harris Methodist HEB (located in a suburb called Bedford)

7. Baylor Grapevine (located in a suburb called Grapevine)

8. Weatherford Regional Medical Center (located in a suburb called Weatherford)

9. Harris Methodist Northwest (located in a suburb called Azle)

I do not have any recommendations since I have never worked in any acute care hospitals (ever). My advice is to get in wherever you can because the local job market is not tolerant of overly picky people. Good luck to you!

PS -- are the summers down there super hot and humid??
Last summer (2013), we had 50+ days of temperatures exceeding 100+ degrees. The summers tend to be hot, prairie-style, and not as humid as locations further south.
