Hospital Wide Resource RN

Published

Hi all!

Currently working on some research regarding hospital wide resource RN. This RN is intended to work along side the hospital supervisor and will not be taking patients. They will be solely used as a resource nurse throughout the hospital to help units with shortages, influx of admits/discharges, rapids/codes, sepsis alerts, etc.

This job can be very beneficial hospital wide. However it can also lead to a position that is not very productive if it is not created correctly. What I want to do is gather some info from others. In your experiences with this role, what are some good things and bad things you have seen with RNs in this role? If you have any other input I would love to hear from you!
