have any of my fellow nurses worked in a hospice pain clinic? If so, I'm looking for more detail of what to expect in the way of everything. I have a potential job opportunity and I'd like to take it.

I've never heard of a hospice pain clinic. Can you explain a bit more?

that's really all I know about it. A doctor, a nurse and hospice patients with pain. Out patient, come in, go home. I've never heard of one either.

Sounds like a great idea.
Hospice pain management that I'm familiar with is done in the home/nursing home environment. The hospice MD has to see the patient monthly anyway. Not sure what the benefit of having someone drive to a clinic instead of being seen in the comfort of their home is, especially those with severe pain issues. Hospice care is more than just handing out pain pills....For some reason, I'm not liking this idea very much. Just my lowly 2¢ worth, I guess!
I hear you. it's a new clinic attached to a new hospice in-patient facility. I'm thinking it may include acupuncture and bio feedback as well as pain blocks. they said I would be starting IVs and prepping patients for procedures for pain control. Must be a new model

I did clinicals in a place like you're describing, though they treated not just hospice clients but all kinds of people with chronic pain issues. Hospice is a big portion of the clientele though, with back pain being the next largest. Go to see a lot of cool pain relief techniques. Unfortunately I worked under a grouchy old nurse who wouldn't even let me DC a flippin IV...lol.
