Hi all. I currently work on a cardiac-pulmonary floor at a local hospital. I really want to do hospice. I would like to stay at my current job but cut down to part-time (maybe three days a week) and work with a hospice. Has anyone else done this? Thanks so much! Just wanted add that I love coming to read the messages in the Hospice forum. It just seems like everyone loves what they do! Thanks again!

I worked three 12s when I was at the hospital and 3 days in home health on my days off. I did that for 3 years. I liked it. Alot of variety. If you do I hope you do not have to do on call as that would be tough.

wow...you must have some kind of energy...I do hospice for the VNA and I only work 2 days/wk and I love it sooooo much, but I cannot imagine focusing on anything else but hospice...it's hard enough when we visit home care pts, which is rare...mind set it to get well again...hospice as you know is totally opposite! You must be young so you could probably swing it... u go girl!
