Hopeful SSU nursing student for Fall 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

I handed in my application for SSU Nursing the other day... Now I'm dying of anticipation! Any other hopeful nursing students for Fall 2014 out there? What were your grades and scores like? What schools did you apply to?

I also applied to SRJC, COM, and CSUEB

Hopefully we will be classmates! :)

Georgettes -- Same here, I'm registered to take the CNA course over the summer at the Red Cross in SR. I'm not sure how many points I had total due to the essays, but I had 79.5 out of 80 points not including the essays. I had a 4.0 in the sciences, 3.94 overall GPA, 96% on the TEAS. And I spent an ungodly amount of time writing beautiful and compelling essays. What about you?

If you decide to go to SSU, then I am very excited to be your classmate! Hooray! And congrats to everyone who got in!!

Wow, that's some awesome stats! I only got a 3.81 in the sciences, about a 3.75 overall, 92.7% in the TEAS but also qualified for volunteer and residency points. I guess I must have made an impression with my essays as well! Did I read the email right or are they asking us to decide by this Friday?!

Yes acceptances must be e-mailed by this Friday. I just e-mailed my acceptance!!

They accept volunteer points? I wasn't sure if they did, but I definitely included my volunteer work in a hospital in one of my essays just to make sure. I'm glad they give a whopping 15 points to local students! What school did you do your prereq's at?

I included my volunteer work in my essay too! I did mine at Napa Valley College. Where did you do yours?

I did my prereq's at SRJC. Do you know when we get our admissions to the university so we can register for the transfer student orientation on May 2nd? I called the Orientation Office at SSU and they said to wait until I'm accepted by the University, then to pay the enrollment deposit and enrollment fee, and then I can register for the orientation.

I'm not sure when they'll be sending out admissions, but I haven't gotten my admission to the university yet. Do you happen to know how much those fees will be?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. It's $235. Not too bad but I am more worried about getting my admission in time!

I believe it's $200 for the deposit and $35 for the orientation

Okay, I've sent them my acceptance! Cannot wait to start!

Wow congrats to you too! Any advice for us about to start?

I received an e-mail last week, getting rejected from Sonoma State. I guess I lost a lot of points by not living in their county! For the people that got accepted, do you all live in their county? I'm just seeing where I might have lost points...
