Hi everyone ! I was wondering what kind of legal issues/lawsuits a home care nurse can get involved with if she chooses to work for another home care company. I know a client cannot hire us personally until they pay X amount of dollars to the company and also a client cannot directly pay a nurse. But what else can the company come after us???????? I have a job offer in managment position from a home care company and i am going to completely resign from my present home care company can i still get in trouble ??????????? Any help is appreciated. Thanks !

What if some of the nurses comes and join my company can they accuse me of stealing there nurses???????

Nurses work for competing companies at the same time all the time and it is expected. If you are ever asked about luring nurses away to a second company simply deny involvement. Since you are resigning, this should not pose a problem for you anyway. However, you can't stop anyone from expressing negative personal opinions about you. Should you hear about this, then plan to deal with it at that time. Confrontation usually works. Don't be surprised to hear that some of these people have personal relationships themselves and don't mind passing business and employees around in a semi-friendly manner. What is good for management is good for the working class too. Just don't make yourself too conspicuous in any of your behavior. Like I said, most nurses in hh work for two or more agencies at the same time. And most have no problems in doing so. Good luck.
