Hi, I'm thinking about trying home health nursing. I only have 4months of hospital nursing. Do they only hire experienced nurses?

Some home health agencies will hire new grads with no experience. By the time that you apply to an agency, you will have more than 4 mos experience. You should insist that you get good orientations to your client cases before you start and you should always get a copy of the 485 so that you can read the plan of care before you go. Sometimes just by reading the 485, you can determine that the case would not be suitable. And even then, if they are willing to have a good nurse on the case orient you, you might be able to take on the case. Hope you find home health to be a good choice for you.
