I have a client who has multiple pressure sores on body. I spoke with nurse and she said in order to get pressure reducing matress we need 4 things. Weight, Wound Measurements, Nutritional Eval; and Lab Work. We have gotten 3/4 tasks completed. The hospital refused to weigh the client yesterday. The client is bed bound and has greater than 5/10 pain most of the time. I just need one weight...How can I make this possible. He does have a hoyer lift at home so I'm going to call around and see if there is a scale I can borrow to attach to it. I was able to get into the CL chart but no recent weight for this month has been recorded. Am I able to use a weight that was taken back in January of this year?
It frustrates me that the hospital would not aid in this situation.

Is the patient in the hospital now? I'm not sure by your post. If he is, how did the hospital weigh him ? Hospital beds have a build in scale or if not the hoyer lift does.
He is at home...and the LPN and I both made requests to the physician he was seeing yesterday to obtain a weight. The physician did not put in the order for a weight. The mom took the CL down to ER and they would not weight him either. Being at home..he only has a standard hospital bed with no weight scale. I've called around to all the DME companies to see if they have anything to help us. He also saw a nutritionist at the end of March who failed to put a weight or height on her visit summary with him.
