Home Health LPN's: Problems getting paid?

Published

Hello all!

I was wondering how many of the home health LPN's out there have had problems getting paid on time? Not all but one place I work for consistently pays me late, 2-3 weeks late sometimes! It makes it hard to pay bills on time. I would quit them but I have a patient I see BID who is great, and I have not found another agency that has work currently and pays on time. I work for an agency that does pay on time, but I do not have enough work from them.

Also, for those that work or have worked for agencies that do not pay on time, what did you do about it? Did you complain to anyone who helped? Did you have to pay bills late? I do not understand how they have so many nurses that work for them. I think these nurses must work for other agencies that do pay on time. There are a billion agencies here in S. Florida, but its had to find good ones that have work, and pay on time.

That said, aside from not being paid on time by this one agency, I do love the patients I have, and the flexibility that HH nursing provides! It is nice to have short visits and get paid for one hour no matter what! I would love to keep it up with HH nursing if I can only get paid on time, all the time. On a side note how do people turn in notes weeks late and get away with that? Dont they want to get paid? I do not understand this at all.

I have never worked with any company that did not pay me on time. Things happen so I could understand there being an issue maybe once or even twice perhaps. If it is more frequent than that I would be worried that perhaps they don't have the money to cover your check so it is "late". I would start looking elsewhere, but that's just me.
