I've heard cases that the home health care agency hires brand new nurses.
I know a friend of mine is looking for a job in home health care, but she just got her license, no experience
anyone know a good site where I could find a job like that??
thanks!

To find an agency that hires new grads, you should call or go in person to the agencies in your area. Most agencies do not hire people with no experience, but some do. And the trick is that some offices will hire inexperienced nurses one day, but maybe three months down the road will tighten their requirements. No one in the area of home health recommends that one try it without a solid foundation of experience, but some have done it, and succeeded. You have to be quick on your feet and get the best orientation and support possible from your agency. It is rare to find an agency that gives this kind of support. An individual normally has to insist on it. Realize that going into home health with no experience, is jeopardizing your license. You are out there alone and when something goes wrong you may not be able to get help on the phone at all. You are the one calling the shots, and you will bear the brunt of the results of the lawsuit, should something go wrong and the patient/family sues. Take the advice of most of us, get a good year to two years of experience in giving patient care and making nursing assessments and nursing decisions before you go into home health. Good luck in your future job choices.
