Holy name school of nursing

Published

Hi.....anybody applied to holy name????

Hi! Do you know all the prerequisites to apply there? I live in San Diego, and I went to sf to go check out St. Mary's College, but I don't have anatomy and physiology yet. It's been really hard to find a school where I can take those courses.

I am currently at HNU and I love the school because it is small and the teacher really try to help you succeed. The requirements depend if you are coming out of high school vs. transferring from a JC. I transferred to their nursing program and they only allow 30 units( pre-nursing) to transfer in. They also require a B- in all science courses. Follow this link and it will tell you more:

Good luck and write me back if you have anymore questions. (Fall semester 2010 will be my last at HNU before I transfer to Samuel Merritt.):D

HI!!! Nice your last semester wow!! I have to take the test on June 5 ...mad nervous :uhoh3:

I already took it and passed! I know people stress about it but the best thing to do is as soon as finals are over do the practice test over and over again everyday until the day of the test.

Good Luck!!!

Hey I know this is kind of late. But I applied to the 2+2 program today. What exactly is the criteria to get admitted? I'm a transfer student. Any info would be appreciated!

I don't know exactly what classes you have completed but here's what I can tell you:

1.) Transfer units allowed are only 30 units

2.) If you got any C's in sciences course you have to re-take them

3.) You can only take science class twice at HNU, repeated transfer course don't count(if you don't pass with a B- the second time you are out of the program)

4.) The TEAS test you can only take twice the minimum scores are list at the following link(try to take it during the summer so you can just focus and study for it without any distractions.

5.) summer school classes are not allowed once you get into the program.

6.) Minimum GPA to transfer to SMU is 3.0

7.)You will most likely get in it just depends on how long you stay at HNU (some people have taken 3 years to transfer)

8.) Once the Nursing Committee reviews your app they will send you an letter in the mail.

I know that it seems like a lot but I have enjoyed my time at HNU because the teachers are awesome and will work with you if you don't understand anything. Like I said you will probably get in! Good luck and write back if you have any other questions.
