Holy Family University Spring 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I haven't seen a thread for the Holy Family University Spring 2019 cohort yet, so I wanted to make one! Has anyone applied and been accepted yet? Or waiting to hear back? This is for the fast-track 2nd degree program!

Hey, thank you for being willing to answer questions. I got accepted both to holy family and Jefferson. I like holy family's tuition and the commute is only 15 min. Everyone keeps telling me Jefferson has the reputation. I really dont which one is best. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Also when it comes to getting a job here in the area, is there a big difference which nursing school you graduate from?

Honestly, if you're in the Philadelphia area and plan to work there in the future, it doesn't really matter so much which school you go to reputation wise. Unless you're commuting like me from somwhere like north Jersey where no one even knows about HFU's existence, I would just save $ and go to the cheaper school. Plus every clinical site I go to in Philly has a couple former Holy Family nurses so I definitely think HFU has some what of name in the area.

And to answer your other question, it absolutely doesn't matter where you go or even your GPA. As long as you pass the NCLEX. I'm looking towards grad school so for that reason, I try to aim for the best possible grades but otherwise it really doesn't matter job wise.

hi rinrin and powerrangers,

i'm currently looking into apply to this program and was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about the program. do you mind shooting me an email [email protected] please.

thanks

Sorry to hear that! :( Don't give up! It's very competitive because of the small class size and even if you end up being put on the waitlist there will be people who drop and you'll get a spot.

Have you finished all of your prerequisites yet? That may be why. I think they require a certain amount to be done when applying, and if you haven't, just keep working hard in those to bring up your GPA! Best of luck to you.

My buddy in Cohort 10 mentions Holy Family has increased their acceptance number starting with Cohort 11 for jan 2019; used to accepted 35 students for Fast Track, but now accepts 40 students.

Hello!

I was just accepted to Holy Family for the Summer but I think it technically starts at the end of April? Does anyone know the answer to this? Also, what month does the entire program end? I am trying to decide between Holy Family and Jefferson because I have been accepted to both but I am leaning towards HF.

Thanks!

Congratulations @brillec I just applied for the fall cohort. What is your stats if you don’t mind me asking.

Undergrad 2.98

Pre-reqs only A’s and B+ I am a bit nervous but my undergrad gpa is so low and I did terrible in math except for Statistics and accounting. I’m wondering if I should just retake college algebra ?

My cumulative gpa is a 3.5 with all course work combined from undergrad and pre-reqs

Hi, I’m just wondering that if you weren’t accepted in the the cohort for one semester could you reapply to be in another?

@Julian20052000 I'm sorry I am not sure how I missed this. Undergrad I had a 3.3 and my pre reqs was a 3.7.

Has anyone else committed to Holy Family for April start? I was wondering if there was a Facebook group for the incoming students.

I think by then the deadline would’ve pass for the upcoming semester. I’m not sure but it’s a good question.

I wish I could start in April but my pre-reqs won’t finish until the end of April.
