HOLISTIC NURSING CERTIFICATION

Published

Specializes in Oncology.

Hi all! I am interested in obtaining my certification in Holistic Nursing. Has anyone else here gone through the process of becoming certified? Any tips, words of advice, or wanna share what the process was like? Is it worth becoming a member of American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA)? I am looking for continuing education credits as well that pertain to holistic nursing but having trouble finding any. (Maybe that is a benefit of obtaining membership to AHNA? Do they offer continuing education credits?)

Thank you for your time and input!

May I ask what kind of work you hope to be doing?

I work in oncology and although not required, it is recommended at my facility.

Ah. By policy which type of holistic modalities are you able to use there?

Our facility offers the following: acupuncture, nutritionists, reiki therapy, massage therapy, naturopathic medicine, meditation, and mind body. The NURSES are able to incorporate guided imagery, meditation, essential oils, and energy healing.

I am interested in starting a private practice. Does anyone have experience with this, like what states this is okay to do in? I contacted the board of nursing and am awaiting an answer.
