Holiday blues

I think I have a touch of the "bah-humbugs" this year. Holiday stress, school stress, money...

Anyone else feeling this way? Misery loves company.

Any suggestions to get out of this funk??

Boy, oh boy, do I hear you! Money, school, work, marriage going down the toilet. Stress, stress, stress. And cruddy weather to boot. However, I make a point of making a list of everything right with my life when I get up in the morning (kids, leisure activities, kids, health, kids, brain). I guess I'm lucky to have my kids!!! Plus, I have always said that I am lucky to be in this line of work - it could be me lying in that bed, with no family to visit and too sick to do anything about it. Try making a list - it's often longer than you would think (especially if you get down to the basics of having enough to eat, etc.).

Yep ! Forget about yourself long enough to go out and do something nice and unexpected for somebody else.... who is far worse off than you.

Surely you can find SOME one...........???

Works wonders to focus on someone else and to work on bringing a smile to someone ELSE's face ! :)

Your personal misery will slither away carrying those little "bah-humbugs" with it ! much.gif

Thanks, I think you're right. I think I need to focus more on the GOOD things in my life. Roof over my head, food to eat, I still have my job-so I can afford to pay my bills.

I am certainly more blessed than some people!

Be thankful for your health!

Helping someone else this time of year makes me feel good. Sponsoring a family for Christmas, buying gifts for kids that wouldn't get any otherwise, baking for my friends and co workers. Sometimes in the winter I feel cold and just want to stay in my jammies, I almost have to force myself to get dressed on my days off but I am always glad to help someone else.
