I went to the last one and you do get to meet with managers, but it's a little bit of long wait and you only have a few minutes to make an impression.
This is some advice from one of my buddies who got a job there. Bring a handful of resumes. They didn't do it when I went but if they have you write down questions, talk about how you want to serve the community in a policy driver manner, and transition from being a novice to expert nurse in your field.
Know what units are hiring. Emergency room I believe is always hiring, not to sure about the other departments. There are booths set up for each unit. Sit close to the booth that you really want to talk to because each line gets ridiculous long. Hope this helps! Good luck.
As it turns out, I just got offered a job today, a truly fabulous job, and I shall not be attending the Hoag New Grad information session. I don't know if all the spots were full, but I emailed them to cancel my registration so if there's someone who wants to go and couldn't get in before, contact them and see if you can now! Best wishes to us all!

Noodling around today and found that Hoag Hospital is having an information session for new grad RN's entitled "Positioning Yourself for Limited Career Opportunities in Nursing." It's set for August 29 in Irvine and there are limited spots. I don't know how many total there are, but when I signed up about 2 hours ago, there were 155 left. I don't know if this is truly just an info session or if managers will be there to maybe accept resumes. Anyhoo, here's the link http://www.hoag.org/careers/rn-new-grad-information-session
