Hello all,
I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!

I know how you feel, I work full time and also married with a 2 year old. We'll just have to learn to schedule our lives and our families will need to support us. Good news is we have summer off to get ahead
Being a parent and school is going to be a challenge. I am happy about the summers off.. This way I can still do family vacations and save money on 4 kids in summer camp :)

I agree. My three are still young (oldest will be in Kindergarten next year). Finding babysitters and time to study will be a challenge but definitely worth the hard work. The summers will give us time to reboot and get some quality family time in as well.
I just sent a pm to everyone who wanted to sit together tomorrow with my number. Rochelleyohn the system did not give me an option to pm you. I wonder why. Hope I didnt miss anyone, and I can't wait to meet you all. If we don't find one another in the morning, maybe during a break or after. Tomorrow is the first day of our new lives. Yaaaaaaa hoooooooo!
Oh yeah. It is a lot of fun trying to line up childcare around just his regular schedule. Never mind when he throws in overtime, special classes or training days, usually at the last minute. But this too shall pass. And I do love stretching across the whole bed every 3rd night, even if everything goes bump in the night on a B-shift. :) Im going to PSC...starting spring also. Good luck to you!
