Highlighting?

I have a habit of being a highlighter addict. I tend to over highlight and I tend to highlight everything in the same color. This method was ok for general education courses, but I know it won't help me a bit with nursing classes.

So, what is your method for highlighting? Do you use different colors for different levels of importance, different topics, etc.?

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

I don't highlight. I think its a waste of time. If I am going to take notes on what I'm reading, I will use a yellow highlighter to make a small mark next to whatever it is that I think is important.

I see people highlighting every single word. How is that helpful?

Just bought a Sharpie retractable 9-pack of all different colors so I can incorporate the color-coding systems some of y'all mentioned :)
