Hey! Yeah I am in the same boat. I graduate May 30th and start a traditional BSN program mid August. I am going to a college of nursing, so it too was immediate acceptance into the program. I also won't have any nursing classes my freshman year, they don't start until Sophomore either, which I was sort of bummed about, but I like how my pre req's will all be related back to nursing, so I at least get some of it.
Awesome. Where will you be going?
Basically the only way you can start nursing classes in your first year is if you go to a community college. Beyond that, almost no programs do that (although apparently Elmira College does).
I think starting in your 2nd year is perfect. You get some background knowledge first, but don't have to wait very long...I mean, at some places you don't really start until your 3rd year, and I think I would die waiting like that!

Are there any high school seniors on here?
I'm wondering because I am and I'm going into nursing. I applied mostly to colleges with direct entry nursing programs (you get into the college and at the same time you get into the nursing program - you take A&P in your first year, and rather than having to apply to the nursing program after that, you just have to have a certain GPA).
Anyone else like me?
I'll be attending Le Moyne College and be a part of their Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing with St. Joseph's College of Nursing...So I get to start all my nursing stuff in my second year of college!
