Hello EVERYBODY , I am NEW here , my name is Jas , i am 25 years old , married and i live in Maryland. I am here in the U.S. some what over a year. Before that time i lived in Germany and visited a German Nurse School for 3 years and finally got my Diploma in September 2002 , after that i worked almost 3 years in an Anaesthesiology Department.Well , right now i prepare myself for the NCLEX-RN Examination and TOEFL-TEST. I can`t work right now because i`m still going thru some Immigration procedures like Adjustment of Status , Petition for Alien Relative and finally this Month we sent my Application for Work Authorization in , which should be issued to me in 90 days or so... ( you`ll never know , the USCIS isn`t that fast anymore ) but anyway , i am looking forward to the day i can work as a Nurse again , that`s what i really love!!!! I didn`t registered myself at the State board of Nursing yet but i started studying already , which can`t be wrong... Well , i guess that`s enough information about me now...But i have a question...Is it possible to work in a hospital as a MEDICAL/NURSE ASSISTANT or sth like that to earn some money as long as i prepare myself for the NCLEX and so on?????Is their any possibility??? I already know about VOLUNTEERING but you didn`t earn any MONEY right??? Thanks in Advance to ya`ll...:balloons: Hope ya`ll have a great day...Bye Jas

With your EAD you could work as a CNA which means that you do a course, pass an exam and get a job. A friend of mine did exactly the same , it took her one year to get her license and it was a good opportunity for her to earn money and see how it works here.

And than she worked as a CNA until she got her license. She than switched to a R.N. position. She did CES which took some while but the school was very kooperative and sent out the transcripts so she did not have any problems at all.i guess the course was a couple of weeks, it is similiar to "schwesternherlferin" in germany, so should not be a problem for you.
