Hey
I have a situation and im hoping someone can help me. I live in NJ. I went to a technical high school in which i recieved both my CNA and HHA license. I have my CNA license still. However, when i check the status of my hha license it says "pending". Its been over a year that i graduated and I never used it. But now that my college schedule is getting less and less flexible, working as a HHA is the best option for me. Does anybody know if i have to take the class over? Or do i have to fill something out? Im not sure how to go about it. I already tried to contact my teacher but havent been hearing back... Please help!!!
Thankssss!

Contact the board of nursing but..,.Did you fulfill all the requirements? You cannot have an active CHHA certificate unless working for a home health agency. This is being enforced and the CHHA team at the BoN is verifying active employment.
Do you have an active CNA certificate? If so, many home health agencies will give the short class to "top up" the CNA to CHHA for free and help process your CHHA certificate with the BoN. Then the CHHA cert can be issued
Per the BoN. "Only CHHHAs that have active and current employment information will be allowed to renew their certifications in future renewals. "
