HH tips and tricks?

Please help me save time and improve. PPV HH RN. Love the work, patient care, and many aspects. HATE, HATE, HATE (triple hate) the documentation. It’s part of it, and I will embrace it. My question is are there any tips and tricks you could share with me to shave time off my documentation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Agree that the paperwork is just brutal! I dont know how you are doing it now but here is what worked for me. When doing an admit oasis I would gather as much of the data (not physical assessment) I could from the office, for me just writing it on paper was easier but maybe tablet/computer is easier for you. Then for the actual physical assessment (depending on the pt/visit) I would either input on the tablet in the pt home or jot down the info on a prepared template and input it later. For the very long written summaries I wrote up a few for different diagnosis etc on my computer and then just changed/personalized it for each pt then copied and pasted it (also did this for other visit typed also, ROC etc. It is just ridiculous the amount of paperwork. I did HH ~2002 and again fairly recently, I ended up leaving because there was just way too much paperwork (that didn't exist in 2002). I was only working per-diem so probably easier if you work full time.

Hopefully over time you will get a system that works for you, good luck!
