HFCC rules for hair while in clinicals...

Does anyone know what the rules are for hair while in clinicals. Does it have to be up or off your face, etc.?:icon_roll

Yup! Anything past your shoulders must be pulled back & out of your face. No "wispy" bangs hanging in your eyes, either. I saw a girl get "reprimanded" for that. No hoop earrings, no rings with stones in them.....

They basically want you to be "put together" and rightfully so because you can't really take vitals, etc... with your hair hanging in your face, nor would you want to touch your hair after touching someone's bedpan. They worry about people wearing rings with stones in them (ie: engagement rings) because they tell you the stone could fall out. I have to be honest, though.... I have worn mine once or twice! ;)

I was just going to ask the same question. Thank you for posting.

FYI - always check your yellow "student nursing handbook" you received at orientation when in doubt. Checking there might be a savior when you need it. What is expected of you as a student is layed out crystal clear.;)

Don't have hand book yet, just on the waitlist! Just trying to get a little familiar with the rules and processes.
