I have taken the HESI twice for Macomb. They require A&P, Grammar, Vocab, Math, and Reading Comprehension. I don't find the test to be all that difficult. I do, however, recommend the study guide (HESI study guide). It's pretty much like any standardized test you've taken (SAT, ACT, etc.). They usually give you 4 hours to complete the test, but it takes most students around 2-2 1/2 hours. I got a 91.5 the first time (without having taken A&P), and a 95.5 just last week. :-) If you have the opportunity to take it once for practice, I suggest that. Your scores are good for 5 years, and they usually take the best score. However, I don't think you can take it more than once per year.
Good luck!!

I heard that hfcc has a new test to get into the nursing program, has anyone taken it yet, if so, what did it test you on? Also, did you find it difficult at all? Thanks.
